Der Lange der Opern und Theater

We were lucky enough to see the performance by Damian Rebgetz, as part of an amazing evening of theatre and opera all over town. Here are snapshots for you to enjoy.

The show is called O Le Tulipe Uliuli, which is the Samoan title for Alexandre Dumas’ 1850 novel La Tulipe Noire/The Black Tulip. Translated in abridged form by Aiono Fanaafi Le Tagaloa, O Le Tulipe Uliuli was first published by Le Lamepa Press, Samoa, in 1997.

O Le Tulipe Uliuli will be read from start to finish throughout the duration of the show, as a series of unscheduled, unannounced performances.

Okay, we’ll let you in on a secret.

The first performance is on THIS Monday 16th April at 10.30am.

Be there and experience the art gallery in a completely different context and language. Also, introduce yourself to Lafitaga when she’s finished. She’s rad – yeah, we’re not biased.

Dalston Eastern Curve Garden and FARM:shop are two of the many wonderful initiatives that happen to be in the Borough of Hackney.

Don’t worry, we don’t work for them. We simply admire these two amazing spaces whose sustainable principles are in the public domain, encouraging local participation and who happen to be in Hackney.

The garden is on the site of an old railway line whereas there are are real chickens on FARM:shop’s rooftop, whose fresh eggs are in their wonderful sandwiches. What’s impressive about both spaces is their live interaction with inner-city denizens to get them to do their own gardening and making and they are very popular with their local communities.

Ah Hackney, we said it again. Enjoy the magic here with us.

We had a wonderful invitation to be immersed in Punchdrunk‘s in-house production at Gainsborough Primary School in Hackney.

Being completely surprised, captivated and inspired to create our own stories by the show, Gray’s Printing Press, was truly a wonder.

We’re still marvelling at our magic gift to contemplate and remind us of the show. Malo le tapua’i Punchdrunk.

Internationally renowned for its white chalk cliff formations, accentuated by streaks of black flint, the white cliffs of this charming town were a sight to behold from the Prince of Wales pier.
