Random Rides: Ōtāhuhu

Today’s ride was a casual way to enjoy the sun after so much rain and cloudy days. Our director, Louise Tu’u, rode around Ōtāhuhu, especially on Salesyard Road, the long gone Westfield train station and Great South Road, to enjoy it’s unique beauty.

Running into check Lotto tickets, Louise chained her bike to a bike stand and found this:

This was before she realised that she hadn’t actually locked her bike to anything. Double check people, as bike theft is a real and thriving culture in this neighbourhood.

Congratulations to the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu local board for putting in 5 new bike stands outside Tōia Recreation Centre! The 2nd photo is tinny, because of the excitement that these stands exist!
