Bike Burbs Hui out South!

Today’s glorious sunny weather helped enhance this year’s Bike Auckland’s Bike Burbs Hui at the Beautification Trust in Manurewa even more.

Our director, Louise Tu’u, gave the first speech about her, founding Cyc Ōtāhuhu, the realities and joys of cycling out in South Auckland, woven into her learnings from working as election campaign manager for the late Faʻanānā Efeso Collins in 2023, particularly around relationship building and what meaningful public transport means. Thank you to the amazing participants, fellow speakers Carol Green and Roger Lacey and Bike Auckland’s Fiain d’Leafy and Sue Cardwell for looking after us and making it easy. Big ups to Teva Chonon for inviting us. Take care and rest up e hoa.

Louise also sold some of the leftover “Find My Way” community tea towels, which enable our work for Cyc Ōtāhuhu. Thanks to the Auckland Climate Grant for allowing us to do this. If you would like to buy one for $35 each + additional postage, simply email: accounts@weshouldpractice.com.

Here is the only photo captured before the hui: an entire section of the middle carriage, just for bikes ❤️
