Sai and I, from Ōtāhuhu Library, had the privilege of volunteering at the Cyc Ōtāhuhu event organized by the incredible Louise Tu’u at Ōtāhuhu Intermediate School. The event was a huge success, with an energetic atmosphere and enthusiastic participation from the kids.
One of the standout aspects was the impressive preparation Louise had put into the event. From prize giveaways to comprehensive resources, she ensured the children had all the tools and knowledge they needed to cycle safely and confidently in their communities. The kids showed great curiosity about cycling, eagerly learning about AT transport, local cycle pathways, and where to seek support for cycling to school.
We were actively engaged in helping the kids gather everything they needed to embark on their cycling journeys, making it a truly rewarding experience.
We would love to see and help out with more events from Cyc Ōtāhuhu in the future!
