So good it must have been fake

Upon our arrival into New Zealand, the last thing we wanted to see was a show.

But boy are we glad we went to this one.

Anna Bate’s So Fake it’s Real at Old Folks Hall in Newton was a study in simulation but delivered the real goods i.e. work which was thorough, contemplative, genuine, sharp and genius.

Experience, time and preparation came together in this work as Anna, Alexa Wilson and Georgie Goater performed, posed and peppered their way through a stunning audio compilation from Sally Nicholas and mint lighting from Sean Curham.

Please hit her up about bringing it back for a longer season and one where she can make money back from it. Yes, we came back as hardcore capitalists and you get what you pay for.

In this case, it’s class.
