Night Shift = Cannes success

We were lucky to meet up with the sassy, intelligent and highly successful director, Zia Mandivalla, who was in town recently. Her latest short film, Night Shift was one of 10 films from over 4500 films worldwide, to be selected for competition at one of the most prestigious films festivals in the world, Festival de Cannes.

Produced by Matt Noonan and Chelsea Winstanley, flanked by an awesome cast and crew and executive produced by A Collective Intake of Breath, Night Shift was always going to be a good nut.

Starring is the inimitable Anapela Polataivao who will hopefully after this success, get picked up and star in more movies.

Our director, Louise Tu´u was 2nd assistant director on this wonderful film. She herself is currently working a month of night shifts, assisting choreographer Jeremy Wade at 4am performances for Unendliche Spaß. Here are the two, enjoying coffee.

Come and celebrate this phenomenal film by buying a ticket to watch it here NOW at the Sydney Film Festival from 6-19 June, New Zealand International Film Festival from July 19 – August 5 and Melbourne International Film Festival from 2 – 19 August.

Please play the trailer below by Brendan Lodge and head to see this film near you.

Big ups to Curious Film, NZ Film Commission and you in advance, for buying a ticket to watch Night Shift.
