Today, we finally managed to meet the wonderful Julia Milne, who is the Project Coordinator for the Community Unity Project, based at Epuni Primary School in Lower Hutt.
We are massive fans at We Should Practice of Julia’s drive, passion and pragmatic programmes, which she says are community-led and have resulted after three years of including successful and bountiful community gardens, a Koha kitchen, Sew Good sewing group, a community bicycle library, healthcare services and guest speakers, who regularly come into Epuni to share their knowledge.
In the hall this afternoon, we listened and asked questions of Gary Hayman, a passionate advocate of sugar-free living, who shares his enthusiasm of changing lives without sugar freely. His generosity and extensive knowledge was welcomed, especially with his homemade kombucha.
Here is the group who gathered today.
