Today, we took part and enjoyed a thoroughly excellent workshop from Little Island Press, Auckland Council and Auckland Libraries at Avondale Community Centre, titled, “Talanoa: Making an (almost) perfect Pasifika book”.
These free one-day workshops inform and empower emerging Pasifika writers as to how book publishing actually works, how having completed content is not enough and design tips and tricks for your book.
We were blown away by the generosity of information shared with us by Little Island Press founders Evotia Tamua and Tony Murrow, as well as hearty discussions with fellow participants.
There are only two more workshops, one next week in Otara and the final one in Mangere.
They are both quickly filling up so enrol now to take responsibility and have fun for your next publication. Check out our photos from this beautifully organised, executed and perfectly bound day.
