Ako Mai, Ako Atu i Aukilani

For the past three days, we’ve listened and discussed grand and humble concepts as well as eating great food in fine curatorial company at this year’s St Paul St gallery symposium, titled Ako Mai, Ako Atu.

Located at Auckland Art Gallery, St Paul St Gallery, Hoani Waititi Marae, Colin McCahon House and Te Uru Waitakere Comtemporary Gallery, curators, artists and directors from various institutions from New Zealand, converged to listen to the keynote speaker, Binna Choi, Director of Casco, respected educator Alison Jones, freelance curators Grace Samboh and Ema Tavola, artists Olivia Blyth, Louise Menzies and Nikau Hindin and designers Desna Whaanga-Schollum and Josephine Clarke share their past projects, current philosophies and future ambitions.

Enjoy this pic of freelance curator and artist Ahilapalapa Rands below , titled ,”Ahi Kaa”, taken by our director, Louise Tu’u at Hoani Waititi Marae this morning.
