This morning was the first time we had ever attended an Anzac Day dawn service in Tamaki makaurau/ Auckland. We went to Otahuhu Cemetery, which had a wide range of young and old people. It was a very moving and brief ceremony. Veterans were in the front line, facing the flag and students from Otahuhu Intermediate, singing in support, peppered with silence.

We then had a surprise invitation from the lovely Associate Principal of Otahuhu Intermediate, Lorraine King, to come and join in a hot and tasty breakfast, which proved to be a welcome, social and fun interaction.
Fa’afetai tele lava Lorraine, your teachers and students for your manaakitanga/fa’aaloalo/hospitality.
